This series deals with the concept of time. There are many ways we can look at and attempt to define time. Generally, in the day-to-day living of our lives, we think in linear terms and try to understand time with calendars, even capture it with clocks. We tend to believe the past is behind us and the future lies ahead.
However, the idea of time cannot be contained in calendars or clocks nor be easily understood, as in strictly linear terms. It is much more mysterious and complex. We seldom stand in the present moment, fully aware of what is happening, without being biased by past experiences, or without attempting to control or design the future. Clearly, our experience of time is influenced by context. We often say, "time flies" or "time stood still." Fun times seem to pass swiftly while difficult ones seem to drag on.
This body of work is not a scientific experiment, nor is it attempting to prove anything. Rather, it is a visual expression of my experience of Past Present Future. I encourage you to make it your own, to see in it whatever you see, to experience whatever you experience. Let your imagination out to play. Let the imagery transport you.
Perhaps if we could fully grasp Einstein's Theory of Relativity, we would be better able to think of time in more imaginative ways. Perhaps, as some believe relativity suggests, the past, present and future are not separate but exist at once.
